Our 2nd stay at Brantfell,that should be an indicator of how much we like it here. Our hosts Adey and Mandy are lovely people and ensure all guests are made very welcome. Rooms are very cosy and clean. The breakfasts are varied and delicious. We shall return and the Brantfell will be our accommodation.

Superb place to stay.Location opposite park and five minutes walk to centre of town.Adie and Mandy make you feel very welcome and their guest accomodation is immaculate and very comfy.We stayed in Room 4 which is their small double.It was perfect for our three night stay.Very quiet , comfy bed, nice shower room and a nice view to hill at rear of hotel.Mandy's breakfast are great and set you up for the day.Adie serves them to you and is a very happychap to chat to and find out about things to do.AVOid the Hardknott Pass unless you have a death wish!!

Had a lovely long weekend break at Brantfell House.Hosts were friendly and welcoming.Room had everything we needed and great location.

From the moment we arrived Aide and Mandy made us feel welcome.We had a lovely room very clean and comfortable the decor of Brantfell House has been done to a very high standard and felt like a high end hotel.Breakfast was excellent, plenty of choice and cooked to perfection.We would definitely recommend staying here and have already booked our return next year.

Our second stay at Brantfell. Aidy and Mandy are such great hosts and go out of their way to help with any arrangements during your stay. Lovely room and stay, such a small world being from the same area as the hosts, they got up early to make my breakfastbecause I had to be off early which was very kind.

Everything about this place was excellent, from the friendly warm welcome , the first class breakfast and the thoughtfully well decorated bedroom. Stayed at Brantfell for the weekend and can honestly say the whole experience was excellent. On arrival we was met by Aidie (owner) who was more than welcoming and informative. Lovely accommodation in a fantastic location close to the town and the walks. Hosts were brilliant and friendly and the breakfast was gorgeous (can totally recommend the omelette).

We stayed at Brantfell for two night between Christmas and New Year. The booking process direct was easy to do with Mandy. We we're welcomed on arrival by Adey and made most welcome and looked after well during our stay. The studio room we had was spot on, spacious and of a high standard. Both Mandy & Adey were very helpful at all times. The breakfast had a great choice and once again the food was of a high standard. Highly recommended! We will return.

Aide and Mandy make you feel welcome from the moment you enter the guest house. they could not do anything more for you. The room are exquisite and spotlessly clean. The breakfast is also excellent with a large variety of options available. I would recommend this place to anyone as a base to explore the lakes

We had a lovely stay at Brantfell house! We were made to feel so welcome by Adie and Mandy! It was like home from home! The whole guest house was beautiful and clean and the breakfast was amazing! Just what we needed for our long walks around the area! The house is in a perfect spot with lots of beautiful walks, restaurants, shops and pubs just a walk away!Thank you so much for everything! We will be back again as soon as we can!

Great B&B a short distance from the centre of Ambleside. We took one of the smaller rooms, but it was perfectly adequate, very nicely furnished and spotlessly clean. A car park pass was was provided, which couldbe used at a number of the public car parks in the town, including one, conveniently, just around the corner from the B&B. But it’s the owners who really make this place tick. Adie and Mandy couldn’t have been more hospitable.Highly Recommended.

Just returned from a 2 night stay at Brantfell House and it was lovely, perfectly located and thoroughly enjoyable. The hosts were fantastic, knowledgeable, friendly and helpful with walking routes. The accommodation was spotless, comfortable with everything in room 2 that you could wish for, and the shower was amazing being the most powerful shower we've ever used. The breakfast was also fantastic and would definitely recommend this place without exception,you won't be disappointed!

The only thing that betters the location of this B&B in the centre of town was the incredible welcome we received from the owners. Nothing was too much trouble and they took the time to explain the local area. The rooms were spacious and the breakfast delicious.

What a wonderful place to stay, the location was great and we were given a warm welcome. Breakfast was excellent with so much choice. Room was spacious and beautifully decorated. We wouldn’t hesitate to return and stay.. A picnic that was made to order was a small extra cost but excellent value and fresh. Nothing was too much trouble and the hosts were so friendly.

Two couples traveling around the UK. Brantfell House was the perfect spot for a 2 night stay.Addie and Mandy are fabulous hosts assisting us with great hints and suggestions around the area. One of our party is gluten free and this was well catered for. Breakfast was delicious with great options. The rooms were roomy and so comfy with gorgeous views outside our windows.

Brantfell House was recommended to us and it certainly lived up to that recommendation. We recieved a very friendly, warm welcome from Mandy and Adey and were shown to room 3 which is large, spotlessly clean, very comfortable and with a lovely view over the park to the hills beyond. Car parking is not a problem because Adey showed us to an included, secure facility just 2 minutes walk away. Breakfast is superb with good choices for anyone. Having been recommended to us, I would definitely recommend to anyone. Our next visit to Ambleside will include a stay at Brantfell House. Superb.

Booked Brantfell House B& B for 3 night stay for a longbirthday weekend.Wanted a B & B in a good location near enough to pubs & Restaurants,but not to close.Having seen Brantfell House on their own website & Booking rooms.com & read the reviews itjust what we were looking for & it met all our expectations. The hosts Mandy & Adie are very friendly approachable & accommodating, lovely people who make you feel very welcome during your stay with them.Breakfasts were great & a nice selection of hot & cold depending on your preference & full English was enough to set you up for the day.They can also do packed lunches if required at a reasonable cost.We had Room 6at the top of the property one of the largest of all the rooms & it was lovely.A very large comfortable bed with a separate seating area which was good & a nicebathroom with shower basin& toilet.The room was clean & tidy, light & airy & nicely decorated. We woulddefinitely stay again when next visiting Ambleside & recommend it to other people. We stayed for one night at Brantfell house during an overnight visit to the Lake District. We had great communication with Adie and Mandy pre-arrival and were great by Adie on arrival to help us find the parking place.Brantfell is lovely and spotlessly clean, and perfect location in Ambleside for walking to restaurants and the water front. The breakfast was fabulous, if too plentiful, topped by an equally plentiful packed lunch, these kept us going though an action packed day hiking and kayaking! We really enjoyed our stay here. Aidie and Mandy are excellent hosts. So friendly and helpful. It is in a brilliant location for exploring, shopping and eating out. The breakfast is marvellous and there is a good choice of food on offer. The room was clean and the bed very comfortable. We will definitely stay here again if we visit this area. Many people think the same as they host a large number of returning guests, some of which were there during our stay.

We just stayed at Brantfell and highly recommend it. Adie and Mandy are terrific hosts who provide not only excellent accommodation and delicious breakfasts (freshly cooked to order and including full English, kippers and haddock) but also good advice on walking trails and more. Brantfell is perfectly located in Ambleside; we never had to use our car during the stay and walked to all the trailheads. The room was comfortable and spotlessly clean. It was a nice experience to stay in this B&B with my wife at ambleside. It is located in a very well placed position, just few minutes walks from the shops of town centre. The host were excellent, very much friendly and helpful, gave the option ofgood breakfast Though they dont have car parking on site but they have dedicated car park just few minutes walk away so not a problem at all. We enjoyed the stay and highly recommendable

We had a lovely couple of days at Brantfell House. Aidy and Mandy are so welcoming and helpful. The B&B is ideally located close to the town, with views over the park and fells directly in front of the building. It was very clean and immaculately decorated, and we particularly liked the amazing Christmas decorations. Our room was amazing, with a separate sitting area and everything we needed. We would definitely book again if we return to Ambleside.

Just had a fantastic 5 night stay. The location is perfect as it’s an easy walk into town, and plenty of choices for food and drink. The Guest House is really lovely - very cosy and welcoming, it has a real home from home feel. The hosts, Mandy and Ade, are fantastic - great breakfasts and you can’t beat local knowledge for walks, and local food and drink. We will definitely be back! Thank you both!

We visited Ambleside for a long anniversary weekend and found Brantfell House to be absolutely brilliant for our needs.It is situated in easy walking distance of the centre of Ambleside and is not too far from the start of many a great walk like "The Coffin Walk" toward Grasmere and the walk to the top of Loughrigg Fell which is fairly testing but a lovely walk.Brantfell House is lovely and clean and has a welcoming atmosphere which I believe is mostly down to the great hospitality and attention to detail provided by Mandy and Ady who were very welcoming and helpful . If you need directions around the village or directions to the start of many walks around Ambleside then Mandy and Ady are really knowledgeable regarding this and werehappy to help us find what we needed.The room we stayed in was very nice with one of the comfiest beds I'd ever slept on. We had tea/coffee in our room and a tv if you needed one . we watched a bit of the world cup while getting ready to go out.There is a wide choice for breakfast and the food is fantastic (especially the sausages).We found the Golden Rule pub great for an afternoon drink after a long day of walking. Recommended by Mandy and Ady and they werent wrong about this place.The Ambleside Tavern was a good pub to visit too with restaurant and bar but it can get busy at times so get there early.We really enjoy dodds italian restaurant which is only a short walk from Brantfell House.Overall an absolutely brilliant and relaxing place to stay which we cannot recommend highly enough.A huge thank you to Mandy and Ady for making our anniversary weekend a memorable one.

The places is in a good location. Adie and Mandy welcomes us warmly. The room is a good size with a big comfy bed. The bathroom is also good size with always hot water. Every day we can choose our next breakfast from the list. I have tried almost of them and they are so delicious. During stys, we felt like home. Adie always greeted us every morning and asked us what our plan for today so he can recommend a good place to go or what we have to aware of. THAT IS SO GREAT AND KIND <3

We loved our room at Brantfell House. The decor was modern & luxurious, the bed was spacious & comfortable & we were particularly impressed that we had Sky tv & Netflix. The owners, Ady & Mandy, were very friendly, helpful & welcoming, & helped us to find a parking space.

My wife an I have been visiting the lakes for many years, staying in several locations. Stayed atMandy and Addies b&b for my wifes birthday last year. Loved it so much we returned this year with freinds for my wifes 50th. They are both extremely warm and welcoming, nothing is too much trouble and you can just tell that they genuinely care that their guest enjoy their stay. When in Ambleside this is the place to be. Hosts 10/10 room 10/10 breakfast 10/10thank you both for another lovely stay and the bottle of wine was a lovely touch.

Made to feel welcome from the off.Room and facilities excellent, very clean and comfortable.Breakfast was a treat.Parking was provided close by. We had no need for our car once parked, as everything was within an easy walk, including public transport links, making this a great base to explore further afield.Mandy and Adrian are two of the nicest people you could hope to meet, and made our stay all the more enjoyable, so a big thank you to them.Would we recommend you stay at Brantfell House? Had a great stay at Branfell house. Its been our 4th stay. Great hosts, breakfast and facilities. Nothing is too much trouble.

Adie and Mandy are excellent hosts.They could not be more accommodating and have excellent knowledge of the available walks and surrounding areas.The rooms are clean and comfortable and the breakfast is second to none.We will definitely be staying again.

We had a few days in the Lakes and the accommodation was superb in every respect. Such a convenient location in the town centre. Very easy parking in the Market Square using a pass provided for by our hosts so I did not move the car for two days!! Our hosts were exceptionally friendly and welcoming. Nothing was too much - and such a selection for breakfast. The room was immaculately clean.We cannot fault and will look forward to staying again.

Stayed for 2 nights at Brantfell house and couldn't fault it, Adie and Mandy made us feel really welcome with their friendly approach, the breakfast was top notch with a good choice and plenty of it, service was excellent too🙂 The rooms were clean and tastefully decorated, the attention to detail was second to none. Our second time here in just under a year. It is ideally located close to town with a bus stop a stones throw away giving easy access to the rest of the National Park. Very nice clean comfortable rooms. The owners Ade & Mandy once again did us proud looking after us and the breakfast is YUM! Ade always ensures you have somewhere to park which is important to me. Next time we are in Ambleside we won't hesitate to book this First Class Accommodation.

The hosts were welcoming and friendly and nothing was too much trouble for them. The bedroom was exceptional with comfortable bed and beautiful bedding. There was tea and coffee facilities and well maintained furniture. The house in general was well maintained and clean. We stayed for two nights and enjoyed both the continental and cooked breakfasts. We felt it was good value for money. The area was quiet overnight and the town centre was easily accessible by walking. We would certainly stay again.

Mandy and Adie were attentive, welcoming hosts, nothing was too much trouble for them. Our room, though I suspect was one of the smaller ones, was scrupulously clean and well furnished as was our en-suite. Excellent breakfast choices all presented well in a most pleasingly furnished dining room. Car parking was 100m away in a public car park but was free to guests. B & B conveniently located just outside Ambleside centre where our hosts recommended pubs and restaurants to visit. We have stayed in 5 x B & Bs over the summer. This was the best by some margin.

We stayed in room 3, it was spacious, clean and comfy. We had the best nights sleep, the bed is so comfortable it felt like sleeping on a cloud. Adie and Mandy instantly made us feel very welcome. Adie is full of local knowledge on the best routes and places to eat. The loaction is brilliant with bus routes to every part of the lakes around the corner an the best places to eat in Ambleside a short walk away. Highly reccomended be back again soon!

We had a lovely stay here and the house was spotlessly clean. Stayed in Ambleside many times over the years. First time at Brantfell House. Definitely would return to this B&B. Room was clean, breakfast tasty with plenty of options, including gluten free choices. Hosts were super. Very friendly but not overbearing, informative about area and very obliging. We also liked the no pets policy as not comfortable around dogs. Would highly recommend this establishment.

We wanted a hotel we could use as a base to spend the weekend with my Mum and brothers as memorial weekend for my Dad. He loved Windermere and this is where we scattered his ashes to rest.Brantfell House has provided this. It’s welcoming, clean, comfortable, the rooms came with everything you needed, the breakfast was amazing. Our hosts were lovely.Having tried other hotels before this one near Windermere, I can honestly say (and my brothers and my mum agree) Brantfell fits us perfectly. Halfway from Cornwall to Inverness, this proved to be an excellent place to stop off and rest. Friendly welcome, good breakfast and room with all the things we needed.

The warm and friendly welcome upon arrival set the tone for the rest of our five night stay at Brantfell.Mandy and Adie are superb hosts who are clearly proud of their business and with good reason.A gorgeous period house decorated to a very high standard, our room was well appointed and cosy. Fabulous shower that can’t fail to wake you in the morning and soothe the aches after a long day of walking.Very comfortable bed in which I slept right through the night, something I rarely achieve at home!Breakfast is glorious! From the Ambleside Salad (full English), beautiful omelette or a choice of Smoked Haddock, Salmon or Kippers the quality and presentation was faultless. All delivered by Adie with his warm humour, sense of fun and the occasional ‘supervising’ visit from the kitchen by Mandy.Brantfell is also perfectly situated for exploring Ambleside and the surrounding area. Just a couple of minutes walk from the village centre and a short walk or drive to some extraordinarily beautiful walking sites.I really can’t recommend a stay here too highly, when we return to the Lakes this will certainly be our ‘go to’ place to stay. 5 stars is not enough!James & ChrisOctober 2021

Mandy and Adie made us feel so welcome upon arrival.A parking disc made life so much easier too.We also had the option of an early check in if required as the room was not used the day before. Our room was on the smaller side however very well furnished, bed lovely and comfortable, ensuite good size.The breakfast was fabulous with lots of choice of starters, full cooked breakfast and many other options to choose from. What a wonderful little family run bed and breakfast. We are always made extremely welcome. The whole house is spotlessly clean and very well decorated and maintained. Hand sanitiser is available for guest use and guests are asked to wear masks which is very good. Our bed was very comfortable. Breakfast was excellent. All in all - very good value for money. We will return again.

From start to finish Mand and Aide could not have been any more helpful and kind. Brantfell House is a gorgeous place to stay. It's a little gem a 2 minute walk from all of the Bars,Shops and restaurants. The welcome was warm and nothing was too much trouble for Mand and Aide. The Brantfell is in an ideal location. Mandy and Aidi make you feel so welcome and are extremely friendly. Room 3 is a large room, with king size bed which was so comfy. The hosts Ade & Mandy were most welcoming providing comfortable, contemporary accommodation in a great central location. Our room was extremely clean and the décor throughout showed great attention to detail with smart co-ordinated furnishings and immaculate en-suite bathroom.With hand sanitisers on each floor, and the organisation at breakfast, one felt like our health and safety in these COVID times was proportionate and given attention without being excessive. Breakfast was superb, plentiful, including refills if required, with a full range of choices available and the option of a fresh packed lunch if required for a small additional charge. This has to be one of the best establishments in Ambleside, a real gem and we look forward to our next visit if we can get in! Well done Ade & Mandy!

The location of this B&B is perfect, right in the heart of Ambleside so makes it a perfect choice if you just want to park the car up and walk everywhere especially for food & drinks.We booked a small double and while it is small it is perfectly well equipped with everything you need and spotlessly clean, and if you do need anything else the hosts Mandy and Aide will go out of their way to get it for you.Breakfast is cooked fresh to order and so much choice, you definitely won't need anything for lunch.Mandy and Aide made us feel so welcome and shared some great local knowledge with us. We stayed with Mandy and Adie at Brantfell House for the night when in the Lakes for an organised running event, which meant an early start on the Sunday for one of us! The B&B is very comfortable and well presented with modern, tasteful and cosy decor. A really lovely stay with a welcoming feeling from the off. The room was cosy and perfect for what we needed. Stayed at Brantfell House on Saturday and had a great stay. The hosts Adie and Mandy looked after us perfectly and have all Covid precautions in place. The location is fantastic with all the shops, restaurants and bars within a 5 minute walk. The room was modern, clean and had everything that we needed. Breakfast was spot on and plentiful, we wouldn't look at staying anywhere else the next time we visit Ambleside.

on arrival we were met By Mandy who handed over parking permits, explained the guest house rules and sanitising. She could not have been more helpful we spent the day in Ambleside walking up to the falls finishing off with some refreshments at a local bar. On arriving back at the guest house we found everything was perfect the room was spotless and equipped with everything we could possibly need just perfect including the view. In the morning we went down for breakfast where Ma dy and Adie waited on us hand and footothing was to much trouble, the breakfast was delicious and set us up for the day. Mandy & Adie are wonderful hosts and keep a beautiful home. Our room was beautiful and tidy with lovely views of the mountains. The location of the house was ideal with everything within easy walking distance. Mandy & Adie made sure we had everything we needed, allowing us to stay an extra night with ease and making sure we had vegetarian options available at breakfast. They also offered really in-depth recommendations & advice which we followed and saw parts of the Lake District we would never have seen without them! Lovely Guest House ideally located very close to the town centre. Mandy and Adie were brilliant hosts and a mile of information, nothing was too much trouble. We had the small doubles which were spotless and more than adequate for our one night stay. The bed was to die for! So comfy I didn't want to get up in the morning! Location wise you could not ask for better with a short 2 minute walk into the centre of Ambleside. The room was spotless and well maintained and the breakfast was superb. Really enjoyed our 2 night stay with Adie & Mandy, who were the best hosts...fun, very helpful & have a beautiful home! Gorgeous, big, very clean room with excellent facilities and really comfy beds, so had brilliant night's sleep. Lovely breakfast options & they recommended a fab cafe "Freshers" just down the road that have delicious Victoria sponge cake!Brantfell House is very close to the town centre (3 mins walk), with lots of great restaurants/pubs/cafes to choose from and walked to the Windermere ferry. Adie gave us a free parking permit close by for our car, so parking wasn't an issue for our 2 days.Ambleside is a great location to many of the Lake District attractions. So easy to find, and practically in the centre. The hosts Mandy and Adie were on hand from the moment we got out of the car to the moment we left!Nothing was too much bother- from an early breakfast and a late check out!We had a top floor room on one of the hottest days so far this year, we were provided with a fan and this helped to cool the room down. The room itself was clean and the mattress was very comfy which made for a good nights sleep. We were looking for a good place to stay which was handily placed, reviews were good so we thought not everyone can be wrong and It proved to be the case. The hotel has been modernised to a high standard and the owners are really nice, it's very clean and the breakfast was good. The location of the hotel is very good being really close to town with all the bars and restaurants very close and the lake is just a short walkaway.We'd certainly recommend and would be happy to return.

We booked a one night stay as we were attending a wedding in Bowness the following day. Location was ideal for local sightseeing, bars and restaurants. We were given a warm welcome by the proprietor and was offered advise on places to eat. Whilst our room was small it was spotlessly clean and cosy, had en suite facilities, fresh towels, toiletries and tea & coffee making facilities. Ade and Mandy are super hosts, the rooms were perfect and spotless, breakfast menu varied - just right. They were friendly and extremely customer centric, simply could not do enough. They purchased the guest house in October, perfect today - can't imagine how good it will be in 12 months time. My mates and I will be back to the lake district again soon for biking, canoeing and walking - can't wait to come back, we will certainly return.

Arrived about 11.30 am and was very pleasantly surprised that our room was ready. We were made very welcome by the hosts and were shown to our room which was at the top of the house. I had chosen to pay for a larger room and it was lovely, with a seperate sitting area, the decor was very much in keeping with the lakes. We had a great stay and would recommend it to anyone wanting a central place to stay. The only thing I would say is that it was rather pricy, but not sure what other places in Ambleside charge.

My boyfriend and i had a wonderful stay at Brantfell House. We arrived to a very welcoming couple. We were given a parking pass so that we could park anywhere in the area for free as free parking is limited, so that was very useful and saved us some money and gave us peace of mind. We filled in a form to order our breakfast for the next day, and i even requested something that wasn't on there originally but they were happy to provide which was lovely. Breakfast really was very, very good and set us up nicely for the day! The bedroom was large and very comfortable, we were in room 3. Everywhere was very clean and we literally have no complaints. Would definitely stay again!

I just spent 3 nights at Brantfell House and recommend it to anyone spending some time in the Ambleside - Grasmere area. Mandy and Adrian are wonderful hosts, my accommodation was cosy and clean and the breakfasts are just perfect to set you up for a long day of sightseeing or hiking in the superb location.

We were just in Ambleside for the Weekend to attend a wedding on Saturday. We decided to make a weekend of it and stayed at Brantfell House on Friday and Saturday night. The owners, Jane and Chris, were very welcoming, the room was very nice and the bed very comfortable. The breakfast was excellent and we had a very nice stay at Brantfell House. We would have no problems recommending it as a reasonably priced place to stay for a weekend in a beautiful part of the world.

Great room, very spacious. Comfortable bed. Very friendly and helpful owners. Delicious breakfast - my wife loved the hash browns! Only reason I didn't give 5 is there was a lot of creeking from above when the people upstairs were walking, which was quite loud early morning!

Chris and Jane were wonderful hosts for my one night stop over in Ambleside. The room was very comfortable and breakfast was delicious! I would definitely stay again and recommend to others.

We received a nice warm welcome and we're shown up to a lovely room at the top of he house. The room was much more spacious than we imagined, with a slightly separate seating area which was absolutely great for getting organised. TV faced the bed though, rather than the sofa so maybe a second tv would be just the thing.The room was really spotlessly clean, the bed was great and the furniture was lovely and all of the fittings were good quality.The food at breakfast was great. A small buffet of lovely colourful fresh fruit and granola etc and the cooked element was perfect - ate the lot!Free wifi worked perfectly and had keys to come down go as we wished.All in all, a great place to stay.

The lovely Jane was welcoming and helpful. The room was immaculate and the breakfast especially good. All locally sourced and prepared by Chris. The best breakfast I have had in the Lake District. We will be back next year.

We came to Brantfell house for a long weekend away.Jane and Chris are fantastic hosts, so warm and welcoming. They will do anything for you (even lend you a coat!)The rooms are spacious, clean and comfortable. The bathroom was spotless and handwash and shower gel from a local company was lovely.The B&B is in a lovely location overlooking the park and mini golf course. No road noise in the evening, very quiet, had a great sleep.The breakfast is fantastic, loads of options and jane will cook anything you want and as much as you want. The produce is all excellent quality and from the local area.Short walk to the lake and town centre, loads of lovely shops and places to eat. I would highly recommend the apple pie factory!We will definitely be coming back to brantfell house.Thank you for a lovely stay!

Arrived about 5.30, able to park at the back of the house, which made unpacking easy. Our room was comfortable and spacious. We particularly liked the mini lounge area. Very convenient location for pubs and restaurants.Took bus down to Bowness from stop just round the corner.Both breakfasts were spot on.The full English veggie breakfast set me up well for an 8 mile hike.We are already planning a return trip for the next equinox

We'd not been to Ambleside before, and there was a lot of choice, but I think we selected well. Jane and her husband at Brantfell looked after us splendidly; our room at the top of the house, which had, I'm sure, been recently revamped (including a lovely walk-in shower) had great views (albeit the four flights of stairs were a bit hard on the old thigh muscles!) and was very comfortable. Brantfell is just on the south side of the town centre, so the perfect location to seek out one of the many eating options but also within a minute or so's walk of open countryside.I've saved the best 'til last - the breakfasts! They were brilliant; the variety was amazing (smoked haddock, eggs benedict and pancakes as well as any combination of the traditional 'English') and the ample portions meant we were well set up for the day!The honesty bar was a useful facility, too.

Top quality accommodation which is always clean and tidy, breakfast from 8:00 if you ask (important if you want to get out onto the fells early) and a great choice of tasty breakfast options. Booked the last room last minute. Beds very comfy & believe me I'm very fussy. Thought there might be more traffic noise as we faced the road but it was fine with the secondary glazing. Woke up when it got light as need black out curtains though. Breakfast good with lots of choice and very nice home made granola. Shame we got the 2 days of rain after a month of sun! Oh well.

We have taken note, however, and something will be made to block the light coming in through the window in question.

We had a spacious room on the second floor, with great views out towards the Fairfield Horseshoe. Breakfasts were substantial and there was extensive choice. Chris and Jane are great hosts - nothing was too much trouble. Highly recommended.

We spent 2 nights in room 5 on the top floor. The room was very clean and bright, with nice fell view out the back of the building. Hi,I don't normally write reviews but I thought I would on this occasion.What a great little B&B this is.Ideal location and the owners couldn't be more helpful and nothing is a problem for them.They even have an honesty bar which I didn't use but I just thought this was a great little touch.After a fabulous nights sleep in the small double room which is more than suitable I was hungry and my goodness what a breakfast I was served with.Absolutely unreal.Would not hesitate at all to stay here again.Thankyou

Our builder recommended Brantfell House, because he had visited this B&B over many years, in 2008/9 he was involved in carrying out a major re-furb of all rooms, this was to an extremley high standard, we wer'nt disappointed on our stay, we were in room 3, although next time i would like to stay in No6 Top floor, having never ventured up this far of the country,so didnt know what to expect, we loved the area on arrival even though it was raining, Brentfell is in an ideal spot to explore Ambleside & surrounding areas, room was modern, well planned layout, clean, plenty of space for clothes etc,Ensuite was lovley too, the breakfast was fantastic & Jane made us feel very wellcome, giving us lots of local info etc, when we return in 2014, we will stay at Brantfell House.Thank you & Well done Chris & Jane for providing a well maintained clean & lovley B&B

This is a great little B&B. Exceptionally clean and beautifully decorated. Great location. Good choice of breakfast - cereals through to cooked breakfast of your choice. fresh juice,tea,coffee etc..My girlfriend is not a fan of cooked English breakfast - but was won over with this breakfast. Very filling, no need to eat until evening time which is good when walking in the hills.Parking is very limited, but Chris did sort it out for us. My girlfriend did find the room a little on the small side.We would both highly recommend this great little B&B again and would look at booking again on the next visit to ambleside

Highly recommended breakfast was great, beds were really comfortable and Jane and Chris give a really warm welcome.We had our two dogs with us who were also well catered for with a sausage each for breakfast every morning. Well placed for easy access to Ambleside and all the attractions around.

This was our second time staying at Brantfell House. Its location in Ambleside makes it a great base for exploring the Lakes and there are plenty of places to choose from to enjoy an evening meal nearby. I would recommend 'The Priest Hole' - amazing food. The rooms are ample in size and clean and nicely furnished. The breakfast choice is very good and everything tastes delicious. Overall, this is a lovely place to stay in the Lake District and we hope to return in the future.

Brantfell House is the ideal location for those wanting to potter around Ambleside and has good links to the rest of the Lakes. The owners were fantastic and welcoming. I found my room to be clean and comfortable and the en-suite of a high standard.The breakfast menu was comprehensive and, although I don't eat hot food for breakfast,the food looked very good.I was made to feel at home and would definitely stay at Brantfell again.

We had booked a double room but were upgraded to a suite which was very comfortable, Imaculate and tastefully decorated and furnished, The Breakfast was excellent,plenty choice and all freshly cooked to order, I do have to say our first impressions of Brantfell House were dissapointing, One of the reasons we booked there was the picture of the lovely warm looking lounge with theopen fire, but not at all like that, no lights on, no fire; did'nt look welcoming at all, We had spoken to Chris and said we would be arriving about 2pm,(As he had said they would not be back from the dentists until then) but after walking up the snow compacted path to locked front door,I rang bell and knocked, Chris came to the door and when I asked him where we could park he said "Who are you?" Think I may have walked away then if I had'nt thought we would lose thedeposit, Could have asked who I was in a more friendly way I think, Jane really was very pleasant and helpful,
